This is excerpted from my school's study of our science curriculum in 2014-2015
As a foundational belief, we teach that man was created by God and in His image (Gen. 1:27) and believe there is compelling Biblical evidence for Creation and the Flood (Gen. 6-8). All things in the universe were created and made by God in the six literal, 24-hour days of the creation week described in Gen. 1:1-2:3, and confirmed in Ex. 20:11. We believe that none of the Biblical account of Creation and the Flood needs compromising. What we teach in this regard is consistent with the Biblical record.
These are the overall goals for our science curriculum:
General Scriptural Concepts
This is a summary of Biblical teachings which have bearing on the study of science.[1]

These are the overall goals for our science curriculum:
- To help students see the awesome power of God as the creator of the universe
- To show how God's attributes are reflected in His creation
- To explain to students the role and limitations of science in understanding the creation
- To develop understanding that each individual has responsibility in caring for God's creation
- To teach students the basic concepts and skills in physics, chemistry, and biology
- To demonstrate how these skills and concepts have application to God's creation
- To teach students to make careful measurements and observations through laboratory experiments
- To prepare students for future science courses by developing analytical and problem-solving skills
- To improve the oral and written communication skills of students through class presentations and written reports
General Scriptural Concepts
This is a summary of Biblical teachings which have bearing on the study of science.[1]
- The Bible and the findings of science do not conflict. The written revelation and the natural revelation are parts of the unity of all truth in God. God links together the written Word and the message from His creation. (Psalm 19; Job 12:7-10; Jeremiah 5:23-25; Romans 1:19,20; Matthew 6:26-34). God’s nature is such that He could not be guilty of presenting to us conflicting messages in the Bible and in His creation. (Numbers 23:19; Titus 1:2; 1 Corinthians 14:33)
- The fact that God is Creator is taught all through the Scriptures. (Genesis 1:1; Exodus 20:11; Deuteronomy 4:32; 1 Samuel 2:8; 2 Kings 19:15; 1 Chronicles 16:26; 2 Chronicles 2:12; Nehemiah 9:6; Job 38:4; Psalm 8:3,4; Proverbs3:19; Ecclesiastes 11:5; Isaiah 44:24; Jeremiah 14:22; Daniel 5:23; Amos 4:13; Jonah 1:9; Zechariah 12:1; Malachi 2:10; Matthew 19:4; Mark 13:19; John 1:10; Acts 14:15; Romans 1:20; 1 Corinthians 11:9; 2 Corinthians 4:6; Ephesians 3:9; Colossians 1:16; 1 Timothy 2:13; Hebrews 1:10; 1 Peter 4:19; 2 Peter 3:5; Revelation 4:11)
- God’s creative work took place in six solar days. (Genesis 1; Exodus 20:8-11)
- God on many occasions has worked suddenly and completely; He is not limited to working over a long period of time. God spoke many things into existence. (Genesis 1; Hebrews 11:3). God performs accomplishments of great significance on single days, or in short periods. (Genesis 1; 2:20-25; 7:10-16; Joshua 10:12-14; 2 Peter 3:10). God’s creative acts have on occasion resulted in that which appears to be the end product of a continuing process. (Genesis 1; John 2:1-11; John 6:11-14)
- God preserves His creation so that it continues to function as He planned. (Genesis. 1; Nehemiah 9:6; Job 26:7-14; Psalm 95:3-5; 104:5,9,10,12-15; 119:90,91; Colossians 1:17; Hebrews 1:3; 2 Peter 3:7)
- God controls every part of the natural world - His creation - the world we study in science. (Job 9:5-7; Psalm 104:6,7; Jonah 1:4,7,17; 2:10; 4:6-8; Amos 4:6-10; 9:5; Daniel 6:22,24; Ezekiel 38:22)
- God created for His own purpose and pleasure. (Nehemiah 9:6; Isaiah 45:18; 1 Corinthians 15:38; Colossians 1:16; Revelation 4:11)
- God uses His creation - what we observe in nature - to teach people eternal truth. (Genesis 9:13-17; Joshua 10:14; Job 26:7-14; Job 38-41; Job 42:1-6; Psalm 8:3,4; 19:1; 97:6; Ecclesiastes 3:14; Isaiah 55:9-11; Matthew 5:44,45; 6:25-34; Romans 1:20; Hebrews 3:3,4)
- All of creation is meant to praise God and bring glory to Him. (Psalm 103:20-22; 107:15,21,31; 11:2,4; 148:2-13; 150:6; Romans 11:36; Colossians 1:16; Revelation 4:11)
- God’s creation was perfect in the beginning. (Genesis 1)
- All of creation has been affected by man’s sin. (Genesis 3:17-19; Romans 5:12; Romans 8:20-22)
- God has provided an orderly world. (Genesis 1:14; 8:22; Ecclesiastes 1:4-7; 3:11; Job 38:31-33; Amos 5:8)
- The natural world, God’s creation, is constantly changing. (Job 14:7-9,19; Isaiah 24:4; 40:7; 51:6; Matthew 6:19; Hebrews 1:10-12)
- God desires that we study science - the details of His creation. (Genesis 1:28; Job 12:7,8; Matthew 6:26-30)
- Man can never know all there is to know about the universe and about life. (Job 26:7-14; Job 37-41; Ecclesiastes 3:11; Isaiah 55:9; Romans 11:33,34)
- Men by nature are not neutral or objective observers of God’s universe; man’s ability to understand the truth is impaired by sin. (Romans 1:18-32; 1 Corinthians 2:14; 2 Peter 3:4-7)
- God everywhere condemns false teaching, and especially so when it undermines the faith of children; He commands man not to listen to that which is false. (Matthew 18:6; Psalm 1:1; Proverbs 19:27; Colossians 2:8)
